Author: Nick Armstrong

I’m Nick Armstrong and I’m #2 on the speed dial of most small business owners, right after mom. When they’re stuck in a rut and need a whiteboard-worth of fun, profitable marketing strategies to fill up client waitlists and bank accounts, they call me. I'm a community-focused, team-empowering, award-winning marketing leader with nearly two decades of experience building brands, running revenue-generating events, and turning community awareness into measurable participation (usually while dressed up as a T-Rex). I host the Dear Fort Collins podcast, where I interview the people shaping our community. I'm the Geek-in-Chief of WTF Marketing. I help small businesses, nonprofits, and civic organizations remember how to market in fun and profitable ways. I've quickly rebuilt profitability for a mom-and-pop shop $60K in operational debt and helped a client generate $200K+ on a single product through better strategy. I am a Certified Systems Business Coach®, working toward ACC and PCC credentials through the International Coaching Federation. That's a fancy way of saying I ask really good questions to get you unstuck and make your life meaningfully better. I'm the Executive Director of Howdy Neighbor Events, a 501c3 driving $1M+ in projected annual economic impact for Fort Collins and reinvesting $165K+ into Fort Collins so far: → Fort Collins Comic Con: 3,000+ attendees, $390K-$500K in annual direct economic activity, $120K+ raised for Poudre Libraries' children's literacy programs. → Founded in FoCo: a pay-what-you-can week-long entrepreneur + nonprofit conference. ~$605K projected impact to local businesses. NPS of 76 in 2026. It’s my lifelong dream to kill the traditional business seminar dead, and I’m pleased to report meaningful progress. → FoCo Book Fest: 77% first-time attendees, 47% attendees traveled to Fort Collins. Author NPS of 79, 89% covered costs, 100% would return. → BrainChange: a speaking event built to viscerally and loudly connect folks over the mental-health ideas often left unspoken. I serve as Chair of the Fort Collins Parks and Recreation Advisory Board. Co-led and advised successful campaigns for Fort Collins ballot initiatives including Ranked Choice Voting (2022), 2A - Yes for Parks (2023), and 302 - Yes for Natural Areas (2025). BizWest Top 50 Most Influential Business Leaders (2024). Leadership Fort Collins, Northern Colorado, and Poudre School District program alum. Author of three books. CSU grad, TaeKwonDo black belt, dad of 2. I’m Nick Armstrong and I make marketing fun. Want to get unstuck? nick@wtfmarketing.com.
